International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Summer School

This Graduate Summer School focuses every year on a key issue related to some of the different interrelated dimensions of sustainability in agriculture: the ecological, the social, the economic and the international dimension. The 7th edition will take place in Tirana, Albania, on 6th – 11th September 2010, thanks to the consolidated cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Bologna and the Agricultural University of Tirana. The Summer School is set up as a residential seminar and takes place at the Agricultural University of Tirana.

The International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Summer School will award a certificate of attendance equivalent to 3 ECTS credits. The certificate will be recognised by the University of Bologna.
  
Topics of the Summer School
 The main focus will be on the different strategies and policies aimed to promote sustainable agricultural and rural development. Beside this general issue the organizers invite participants to present posters that address the following topics:
1. CAP reform and evolution
2. Multifunctionality of agricultural activities
3. Rural development
4. Institutions and governance of the agricultural sector
5. Quality food products
6. Agricultural economics in transition countries
7. Pro-poor development in low income countries: food, agriculture, trade and environment
8. Climate change
9. Bioenergy

Fees and scholarships
- fees differ regarding to the residential country of the participant ( 100 – 200 euros)
- a limited number of scholarships covering tuition fee, accommodation (full board) and travel reinbursment will be offered on a competitive basis to students from Central-Eastern Europe and the Balkans

Application procedure
All interested applicants should submit following documents:
2. an abstract of the poster presentation (max 250 words)
3. letter of motivation (250 words)
